Professional Pipe is a process piping company that provides design and installation services from coast to coast.
We create and build new pipe systems and repair or retrofit existing ones. Founded in 1972 in North Carolina, we began as a piping contractor for the textile industry. We pivoted in 2006 to focus on serving the poultry and food industry. Since then, we’ve expanded our services and have a diverse portfolio of industry partners.

Meet Our Leaders
John Tyson
President and Owner
John develops the company’s strategic and financial operations and spearheads its business development. Also, he leads project evaluation activities and negotiates contracts with clients, vendors, and subcontractors. John is passionate about providing the best service possible and delivering high-quality work at all times.
Jack Kirk
Project Manager
Jack conducts onsite inspections and coordinates post-construction audits. He also estimates time, materials, and contract costs for potential projects and obtains all necessary permits and licenses that PPI needs to operate. Jack has vast experience in the protein industry, including chicken, turkey, pork, beef, and eggs. He directs all procurement phases, serves as a consultant on refrigeration projects, handles textile rotary screen printers and dye equipment. Jack adds his expertise to deliver a successful result from a new project, maintenance, service, design, and management.
Pete Quimby
Project Manager
Pete brings years of experience from the protein, power and energy, corrugated box, automotive, and pulp and paper industries to the projects he manages. You can trust Pete’s expertise to interpret prints, drawings, and sketches to facilitate take-offs and costing of projects for contracts. He directs project execution on-site.
Rick Huff
Project Manager
Rick holds a Master Plumber’s License in Alabama and brings expertise from the protein industry to the renewable energy industry. His experience spans industrial equipment, ductwork, tanks, piping, fittings, as well as all aspects of the process piping industry. You can depend on his immense knowledge of costing out contract projects to ensure your bid is accurate. Rick facilitates new construction, installs, repairs, and removes equipment to help with project implementation.
Sonny Carpenter
Project Manager
Sonny brings knowledge from the textile, automotive, feed mill, and beverage industry to die equipment, tenor frames, jet machines, tank farms, boiler, and propane systems. He’s skilled in tearing down existing structures and preparing facilities for new construction. Sonny relies on his extensive experience to interpret prints, drawings, and sketches to help design project execution.
Adam Allison
Project Manager
Adam holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from N.C. State and a Professional Engineer License for the state of North Carolina. His expertise is in wastewater design and petroleum work in the U.S. and Hawaii. Adam facilitates engineering design work and serves as a project manager and estimator for projects relating to power utilities, commercial construction, and industrial processing, primarily in the food service industry.
